Hemp CBD 101
Basics of Hemp Extract
What is Cannabidiol (CBD)?
Cannabidiol, is one of over a hundred naturally occurring compounds found in the leaves and flowers of cannabis plants. Cannabidiol has a variety of wellness benefits and works naturally with our body’s Endocannabinoid System.
Hemp-derived Cannabidiol does not have the same psychoactivity as THC found in marijuana plants and will not get you high.

Hemp is Not Marijuana
Hemp, or industrial hemp, is a variety of the Cannabis Sativa plant species cultivated throughout recorded history for its fiber, food and other uses. Hemp seeds contain Omega-3 and Omega-6 oil, healthy fats, protein, vitamins, minerals and amino acids. The leaves and flowers contain cannabinoids like Cannabidiol.
Hemp is sometimes confused with the marijuana plant variety that produces high concentrations of THC (delta-9 tetrahydrocannabinol), which is the primary psychoactive compound that causes the high or stoned feeling.
Hemp has higher concentrations of Cannabidiol and by law must contain less than 0.3% THC. Hemp-derived Cannabidiol will not make you high and is legal in all 50 states.

How Does it work?
Our body has a network of cell receptors, called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS). They help us regulate sleep, appetite, mood, stress response, energy, pain and maintain overall balance and good health. Cannabidiol naturally engages with these receptors and provides needed support to achieve a healthy balance.

FULL VS. BROAD VS. ISOLATE
At least 113 different cannabinoids have been isolated from the hemp plant. Main classes include Cannabidiol, CBG, CBN, THC as well as CBC, CBL, CBT, CBE, THC-O, Delta-8, Delta-9. The cannabinoid range contained in a product is what qualifies the product full spectrum, broad spectrum, or Cannabidiol isolate.

Full Spectrum
Full spectrum extract contains the full range of hemp’s cannabinoids including less than 0.3 percent THC. Research suggests all the cannabinoids working together produce a more holistic effect.
Broad Spectrum
Broad Spectrum contains all cannabinoids naturally found in the hemp plant, except for THC. Broad Spectrum is like a THC-Free Full Spectrum.
Isolate
Isolate contains only Cannabidiol with no other cannabinoids and is THC-Free. It’s often used to add a Cannabidiol boost to a full-spectrum or broad spectrum hemp product.
